The decree and the corresponding order can be consulted on the Légifrance website.Decree No. 2023-641 of July 20, 2023 in force since October 1 modifies the provisions of the environmental code and the public health code, the purpose of which is the obligation of annual maintenance of fireplaces and appliances heating, cooking and combustion hot water production; obligation to sweep smoke ducts; and obligation to provide advice during the maintenance or sweeping of solid fuel fireplaces, appliances or conduits.

A paid prior visit will be necessary before any possible handling of the annual maintenance of wood heating installations which have not been carried out by us.
No maintenance and/or chimney sweep certificate will be issued in the event of apparent non-compliance..

« Art. R. 1331-18. – Chimney sweeping involves cleaning, by direct mechanical action, the interrior wall of the flue, in order to eliminate soot and deposits and to mesure the vacuity of the conduit over its entire length, including the connecting pipes or conduits.
« Art. R. 1331-19. – Chimney sweeping of flues and connection pipes is carrierd out at least every twelve months. The decrees mentioned in articles L. 1311-2 may provide that chimney sweeping is carried out several times per year, including once during the heating period.
« Art. R. 1331-16. – Maintenance is carried out at least every twelve months.
« Art. R. 1331-20. – The devices necessary to provide access to all parts of the smoke and ventilation ducts be established and maintained in good working order to enable maintenance and chimney sweeping operations.
« Art. R. 1331-21. – In the case of fireplaces and individual appliances, maintenance and chimney sweeping are carried out at the initiative of the occupant, unless otherwise stipulated in the lease.
